Please excuse me if I am missing something; I just got the plugin installed and have begun to play around with it. From what I’ve seen and read it seems that once a review is created, users can then reply/review the product.
Is there any way to allow users to submit the “initial” review of the product to bring to our moderators attention and then they will approve the review page and determine the appropriate review criteria? We really want to crowdsource the input of reviews and simply determine the selection criteria etc. Essentially, we want an easy way for individuals companies to submit their products to our review database.
Thank you in advance.

Thanks for joining us.
The plugin require the editor to post the review and rate it, then allow visitors to submit their review and rating “to that review”.
I understand your point, I actually thought about this, but it will totally change how the plugin works… we are talking here about:
– signing up those companies to your site, so they can post a review.
– create forms so that they can submit their products
– keep that in moderation, so you can approve it for publishing
– dealing with bad products, a lot of spam…etc.
So that’s not in the scoop of the plugin. However, it worth looking at (But to be honest, I can’t promise anything).
I suggest you create some sort of form on your site, where anyone can submit a product for review, then you can list it manually, and also maybe have control over Free/Paid listing is you wish.

We’re running a internet justice website where we’d like technology in justice partners post their website. We could create this type of form and manually list it, and I suppose that’s what we’ll do for now. We just want a way to easily convert them without copy and pasting them into reviews.
I think the spam situation would be minimal with the right protection, but I understand where you are coming from on that. I’d just like a way for the required information (and perhaps a default rating criteria for different categories) could be hooked into the review for easy approving.
Let me know if this is something we could hire you to possibly do?

Michael, the WP Reviews store its data in custom meta, so it’s pretty easy to use a plugin like Gravity Forms to build a form and do this exact process.
If you need help, get in touch with me by email, and will take it from there. (please, provide me with a link to your site too).
