My site encourages users to rate service providers. I would like to create a review post for a provider that says “not reviewed yet” and still allow users to submit their own ratings. When I try this, until I add an editor rating there is no way for users to rate. I know this makes sense for most review sites. Not mine. Is there an option for something like “editorial review pending” that will allow users to add ratings before the editorial rating (I realize I will have to provide the rating criteria, that’s not a problem).

Eric, this is what I am working on right now, I am almost done with it.

I am also looking forward to this, my site is for ‘trade reviews’ and this script works a treat. Not having the editor rating is a must and I cant wait 🙂

Yeah, me too 🙂
The core code is ready, I still have to go through shortcodes and widgets to update the code, it took more than I thought, but well.. it’s going to super!

Just subscribing to this topic ;-). Is it also going to have aggregate markup?

Cool. It’s getting better, only a few slight changes to make sure it works fine before releasing.
P.S. Yes, it has the aggregate markup.

Hesham, when will this feature be available?

Hey, just wanted to chime in that I’m waiting on this as well. An ETA would be very helpful.

I’ve just updated the plugin, download version 126.96.36.199.1 within your account and replace it with the old one.

It’s ready not, download version 188.8.131.52.1 within your account and replace it with the old one.
I will send an email all members via the system now, and also will work on updating the documentation and probably write a post about the new features.

I installed the update (I had to uninstall the previous version and reinstall the new version) but I still can’t activate the user rating system unless I create an editorial rating. Is there some setting to leave the editor rating at No Rating but still allow users to comment and rate.
Let me be clear about what I want. I’m going to import data for about 200 local service providers into posts. I will review these service providers myself over time, but until then I want users to be able to leave comments about their experiences with a provider and to rate them according to my criteria (facility, staff, treatment, etc.). That way site visitors are not waiting for my editorial reviews, and I can also see which providers are getting the highest ratings and choose to review them first.

Yes, you must enable the user rating within the Review Meta Box, where it says “Enable User Snippets”.
P.S. Make sure to import that filed and set it to value = on.

I assume you’re talking about “Snippet Source (default:author)” in the User Ratings Settings section. I set it to user. Now the review appears under All Reviews, but still the rating criteria sliders do not appear in the review or in the comments. The comments are simply a comment box… no stars, no criteria sliders.
I want a “not yet reviewed” review to appear EXACTLY like it does when I have created a full review: name, post content, rating criteria, stars… except all the stars will be grey and all the rating criteria will be zero. THEN I want users to be able to add their comments AND adjust their own stars AND their own rating criteria sliders just as they can in a full review. If I can’t get this, your plug-in won’t work for me.

When I set the star rating to 0.5 the whole review becomes visible, including user ratings with stars and sliders. I don’t see why we can’t just have a 0 star rating instead of starting with 0.5.

Actually both, there it two settings, one in the plugins settings page, and the other one is in the Review Settings meta box, both should be enabled.
What I am going to do is, when you add criteria fields, and (it’s a user review) then the criteria sliders will show on the comment form, no author details should show then.
P.S. Eric, it’s not about what you want, we are working together here to produce something that makes sense, and works for every member. I can’t respond or include every request in the plugin, I hope you understand.

The “0” won’t look good, I think it’s a better choice to just remove the whole author rating and stars, I’ve replaced that with other details based on user rating, I am not sure which version you are using. This is included in the latest version.
P.S. Please, open your own thread if you have question or need help with the plugin.
