Tagged: plugin update
I have seen that the Rich Snippet has been updated and wondering how to update it in my website. As I don’t see automatic updates on wordpress backend, I suppose it has to be done via FTP. Can you confirm? And if so, could you please just highlight the important steps?
Please, follow these simple steps to upgrade the plugin:
1- Within the plugins page (in your dashboard), deactivate and delete the plugin.
2- Install and activate the new version just like any other plugin (you don’t have to use FTP).
P.S. No data should be lost in this process.
I hope this helps.
Thanks Hesham. Will do so.
Do you plan to have an automated update mechanism? This is approach is not great for production sites. Needing to leave the site for sometimes several minutes due to the manual approach without the plugin active at all is not really great.
Yes, actually I am working on it now 🙂 , hopefully I will be able to introduce it next month. I will post a release blog post about it when it’s ready.
