OK I have read the support issues to see if I can find a resolution and I have to say that the documentation for this plugin is not clear at all. I have 2 testimonials which display fine via the widget option. However I would also like a page called testimonials that displayed them and also liked to another page where people could submit their own testimonial.
I’ve looked at the shortcode and tried to replicate the different options. If I use the first option I get the images of those who have given testimonials but not what they say. If you hover over the images you get a few words but nothing that makes sense. Why would users know they are to hover anyway, not intuitive at all! To see example visit:
I then tried to use the other shortcode which seems to indicate it will display as a tooltip but I cannot be sure as it’s not clear at all. I would suggest your page regarding display testimonials needs a complete revamp so it’s clearer what users need to enter and what they can expect the appearance to be. Anyway I tried this code. and even had the correct post numbers for the 2 reviews but it results in testimonials not found. I’m pulling my hair out trying to resolve this and seriously losing patience with this plugin.
Can you give clearer instructions?

Why testimonial text don’t show?
Because your theme entry area has a style that hide anything out of the range of that specific area:
I hope this helps.
I’ve done a few upgrades for this plugin, sometimes it’s hard to keep the document page updated, but I will try to get it done on the first chance.

My theme is one of the most popular genesis themes on the market. Is there no way your plugin can be set to display testimonials on a page simply? What are my options? What does tooltips do or mean? None of this makes any sense at all. Since the sidebar works so easily why can’t the shortcode for page placement be as simple? I’m not looking for fancy bells and whistles, just for a page I call testimonials to display the text on this page. Can your plugin work with genesis themes without me having to remove lines of code from my theme?

The tooltip (or what they call it sometimes infotip) is the hidden bubble that shows when you hover on the customer photo.
I see that you’ve figure it out now, you don’t have to modify anything really, but just place a paragraph or two on the top of testimonials will push it down a little and do the trick.

Yes once you mentioned the problem of the theme not displaying outside a certain area I decided the easy fix was to write enough text at the top to force the images of people to be lower on the page. I know studiopress employ tooltips themselves so they manage to get them to work on their themes but I don’t know if they have to modify code to get them to display or whether their solution simply does not conflict with the themes they produce.
In any case it’s working and now I await to see if Google display the results in the SERPS.

Great, I hope the stars will show in the coming couple of days.
