Hi – we recently purchased your plugin and there is no rich snippet data showing up on the individual testimonial pages. The aggregate review data is showing on the home page. How do we get the rich snippets to show on each individual testimonial page?

This is how the Customer Testimonials plugin works, it adds the rich snippets to the home or front page, which provide an overall rating of your service/product but not to the individual testimonials pages, or any other page on the site.

I’m stunned… Why would you not put the schema data into the individual testimonial pages?!? That seems like an oversight that should be fixed…

First, because review rich snippets meant to be used in reviews, also a Testimonial is not really a review. So, what the plugin dose is calculate the average of rating, then use it to introduce markups on the home/front page.
Reviews require more details to be entered by customer, but in our cases we don’t really need them. We just need to rating.
I hope this makes sense.

If you’re adding the average rating to the home page, then there’s no reason not to add it to the page where the testimonials are aggregated –
I suppose the fact that “a testimonial is not really a review” is up to interpretation, and even if I agreed with that ( which I don’t) then how can it be logical to put the aggregate review schema only on the home page and exclude from the testimonials page? I’d prefer it in both places, or else JUST on the testimonials page…

Actually that’s what I am going to do, I will move it to the testimonial page, but I remove it from the home/front page. (it’s hard to make it work on the home page, and I got some feedback that it could be against Google’s TOS if used in a bad way).
I am working right now on some enhancement for the plugin, I hope it will be ready soon.

I agree that adding it to the home page likely is against Google’s TOS – That’s not the intended use…

The plugin has been updated!
Now there is an option to set where the rich snippets should apply.
