    Hello, for some reason the images I add to my review are enlarging to the full width of the review column. see here:

    is there a way to adjust this I would also like to have the review text wrap around the image when it is decreased in size. I though the hreview plugin had the option to do this but cannot find it in the new reviews plugin.

    I am using

    I was able to get the image smaller with this bit of CSS:

    #ta_rating_square img {
    width: 25%;

    It have not been able to figure out how to adjust and position the Ratings box in the post.

    What I am really looking for is the same customization options that are in the “Rating Box Setting” section of “Author hReview” They do not appear in the “WP Review” settings. This is the area here:

    Am I missing something?

    You must use a high quality images in the WP Reviews, image should fit content width. It’s not possible to wrap the other review details around the image.

    P.S. Please, avoid editing the plugin code and/or styles.

    I do not want large images, even high quality in my reviews box. I don’t like the way it looks full width.

    I find it strange this functionality is included in the other review plugin but not this one.

    So are you telling me I have two choices:

    1) I use the Author hreviews and get the layout I want, but not the function of user rating.
    2) I use the WPReviews and get the functionality of user rating but not the layout I prefer.

    That doesn’t seem very customer friendly choice to me. I didn’t mind paying the extra for the user feature, but I didn’t think I was going to loose control of the layout.

    I am not changing plugin styles/code within the plugin files, the theme framework I am using (Pagelines DMS) allows for custom css override.

    So I still would like to know how I can get this sorted and get the layout I want for MY site?

    Ok, let me explain…

    You are dealing hear with two different plugins, not necessarily to have same functionality in both plugins as the documentation declares.

    The WP Reviews has user rating functionality, which require more space to display review details. That’s why full width images is the ideal display for it. Also, there is no templates at this point. (I will be adding more templates in future releases, however have control over image width and alignment won’t be presented in the plugin settings).

    The Author hReview plugin has less details to display, it also come with layouts/templates control.

    – I am not telling that you have to switch to the Author hReview to get the display you want, I am trying to explain that this is how those tow plugins are built. So, changing the image layout in the WP Reviews plugin will require changes in the core of the plugin, it’s not that easy due to the number of blocks generate in the Rating Box template. There is no straight forward way to change this display.

    Also, in the latest release, there is an option to display an image slider in the Rating Box, these won’t work well if you set image alignment to left or right, mostly it will break the layout of the Rating Box.

    This has nothing to do with “customer friendly choice”, it’s just about how these two plugins work, they have different functionality. I hope you understand this point.

    Thank you for your response.

    Unfortunately I disagree with your layout design philosophy. I believe the additional review details can be presented fine in a stacked/slimmer layout. I’ve been able to tweak the CSS to get me close to what I am looking for and the information in the box fits fine. Not perfect but presentable. If I had more knowledge of CSS and it’s relation to the plugin I might be able to get a better result.

    With my very limited CSS knowledge, by making these small changes (in my custom CSS area) :

    #ta_rating_square img {
    width: 50%;

    #ta_rating_square {
    float: right;
    width: 45%;

    I’ve been able to achieve this, a smaller image and a right oriented ratings box, the only thing I cannot figure out is how to get the main text of the post to wrap around the ratings box. Perhaps this is due to the complexity that you mention.

    Ideally I’d like to see this (pardon the lousy photoshop mock up)

    However I do not wish to argue. I am just a customer initially asking for help and now voicing their opinion of what I would have liked to have in a product.

    Sad to see that it looks like I will have to wait until more aesthetically pleasing templates are created. I will see what I can do to get this to work in the meantime.
