I think I am having a similar or related issue trying to get the Table Rankings to style correctly in the new Elegant Divi theme. It works when the short code is inserted using the standard content box, but not when used within the Divi new Module system (perhaps similar to the widget scheme in the sidebar).
There appeared to be a solution to your issue pertaining to using short codes in widgets. But using this solution I couldn’t get the tables to display in widgets with correct styling either. Perhaps you will have better luck with your theme. http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/wordpress/313-use-shortcodes-within-text-widgit
I am unsure if the limitations are with the plug in or the theme. Please let me know your results if you try this.
Jonathan – my theme designer (Elegant Themes) figured out what my problem was – so maybe it will help you as well. There is a setting in one of the plugin’s admin pages for “always load scripts/styles” that he enabled, and that was the problem.
In addition, he found one bug (sorting on pages), and a “missing” file reference that I will be happy to pass along to Hesham if he is interested.
