Not sure if I’m doing this right, but when I have the “Enable Cookies” option checked, I can only ever comment/review (as a user) on one product on my site.
As soon as I enter a “user review”, a cookie is created called “vistor_rating” (with a path value of ‘/’), however, when I try to review a completely different product on the same site, is says I’ve already reviewed that product, even though I have not yet. If I then go and delete the “visitor_rating” cookie, I can then leave the user review comment. Is this the desired behaviour?
Sorry for all the questions, I’ve only installed the plugin this morning, so it’s all new 🙂
Matt, you are right, there is a bug here, I recommend using the IP address check till I can fix this bug, it’s more reliable and works great for me.
P.S. I am actually thinking to get rid of the Cookies check, and keep only the IP check, but I will make a final decision about this when I reach this point.
Thanks Hesham – I tried the IP address check and that seemed to work just fine 🙂 I’ll stick with that for now – I just wanted to make sure I was understanding how the cookie check was working.
Great, I hope you are liking the plugin.
The Cookie check need another parameters (which is post id) so every a user rate a product it should save the value plus the post id to identify which post, this is missing in the plugin right now, also I am not sure what will happen when a user disable cookies in his/her browser.
