No Rich Snippet will be Generated for This Data (Solved)

Yesterday, I notice that my reviews shiny stars has been dropped from one of my product reviews in Google’s SERPs, what a shame! I checked one of the reviews on Google’s Rich Snippets Tool, and I discovered an issue with the’ AggregateRating that I am using on the Author hReview plugin, it just doesn’t work like is was before, I have a doubt that Google has changed something!

Google’s Rich Snippets Tool was giving this warning

Warning: No rich snippet will be generated for this data, because it appears to include multiple reviews of an item, but no aggregate review information.

I assume this is the case on all the blog that are using the Author hReview plugin for their products reviews. So, sooner or latter all those shiny rating stars will disappear, it all will happen once Google revisit a review page and update its search results.

The good news is I was able to fix the issue, and I have tested the plugin on and I got the rating stars back:

Review rating stars in Google search

I fixed the Rich Snippets issue by

I know it sounds complicated, but well the plugin is now working, and that’s the deal.

Here is a few links for reviews if you would like to test them out:

I’ve updated the plugin at today, and it will start showing notices on the blog dashboard soon, you will need this update, so go for it.

  1. Hi Hesham
Installed the plugin yesterday and added a review to one of my posts – still waiting for the stars to appear in the SERPS.

    “I know it sounds complicated…”
You are certainly right about that.
No problem though, I have your fabulous plugin.

  2. I was wondering why my stars had disappeared from the SERPS! (and, yes, traffic had dropped too).

Hopefully Google will look upon me favourably again now I’ve updated the plugin…

      • Yeah, I’ve spotted a few reviews have stars again. Can’t wait for them all to come back – several of those post dropped from page 1 in the SERPS to page 10+ – don’t know if its related or not?

        • Cool, I am not sure that rich snippets could drop any pages in search results, this never happen to me, and I really can not confirm anything from that! Probably it’s due Google algorithm changes!

          • Yeah, I figure its algorithm too. Wish I knew what exactly – I’ve lost a couple of thousand visitors per day!

  3. Hey Hesham,

Your plugin is great and and I’m glad I’ve found it. I could write a review about it at my webiste once it’s up and running 🙂

I would like to make a few future suggestions however.

    1. It would be nice to have a half star, I think google accepts it.
    2. Summary doesn’t have to be required.
    3. There could be an option to add more custom sub-ratings fields from which the overall rating can be calculated. (reference see cnet’s reviews)

Please accept these suggestions as feedback and an opinion on where to improve next in your plugin instead of criticism. I love your work, the plugin is very neat, keep it up!

    • Hi Goce,

      1- I agree!
2- Summary is required as part of the review.
3- CNet has editor and customer reviews combined on same review posts, this plugin focus on one thing, editor review! (more features means more issues, I hope you understand).

      Thanks for the suggestions.

    • The only thing I can think of is that Google should re-index your pages again for the rating stars to show in SERPs, everything else looks good to me!

  4. Ive had this problem also.

I have just recently added a manual review process onto my Magento site. Now i know that this plugin wouldn’t work.

But would you know how i can get the Stars back within my SERPS

  5. This is good plugin for wordpress user to review product. I installed this plugin three of my blog to give better review rating to my readers.
And one more to hesham, i want to implement this snippet to basic HTML site, Is is possible?

    • Yes, it’s possible to implement snippets on any HTML page, you just need to read about it in Google developer forums or maybe search for some resources on the web.

  6. It appears authorship and reviews will no longer appear in SERP together. I’m noticing all of your reviews have lost your author photo in SERP.
